African Clothing and Textile Industry federation (ACTIF)is a not-for-profit organisation that represents the interests of the cotton and textile industries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The ACTIF Fashion Show Launch was a trade, capacity building and entertainment event in conjunction with USAID-COMPETE aiming to identify and educate upcoming designers on commercializing their designs. COMPETE - The Compettitiveness and Trade Expansion Program - is a regional program that aims to improve trade in East and Central Africa and is funded by the US Agency for International Development, USAID (www.competeafrica.org)
The Fashion Show, organised by Moo Cow and produces by PHAT Africa featured designers fro all over East Africa Including:
Stella Atal and Xenson Senkaaba from UGANDA
Paradise Fashions and Mafi Habeshigna from ETHIOPIA

Mapozi Designs and Jamilla Vera Swai from TANZANIA
JAMILLA:
Patricia Mbela, Viva Africa na Ki2 from KENYA
PATRICIA MBELA:
Accessories from Magik Grace, Maro Designs and Africa Adorned in KENYA
AND
Jane Wairimu and Michael Nzokia from BIFA (Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts) and Christine Murage from Macensal Fashion School were the three student designers from KENYA.

We also cannot forget the people who made it work, PHAT Africa, the production crew; Moo Cow, Fashion Show co-ordinators and backstage crew; HAIR by Revlon with celebrity hairstylist Randolph leading his team; MAKE-UP by Suzie Beauty and Fatu; CHOREOGRAPHY by 'yours truly' ME!!!; and MODELS from KINKEY Models and MOCHEZ.
